Francesca T Barbini
Writer, Editor, Translator. Founded LPP in 2015.
Francesca T Barbini is an award-winning editor, and a translator, born and raised in Rome, Italy. After years of volunteer work around the world, she completed a MA Honours in Religious Studies at New College, Edinburgh University, focusing on the Ancient Near East and the Dead Sea Scrolls, followed by a PGDE at Edinburgh University. She is currently completing a PhD in Publishing at Edinburgh Napier University.
In 2011, she began self-publishing her YA SF series Tijaran Tales, subsequently receiving a publication contract by Canadian Oloris Publishing.
In January 2015 she officially started Luna Press Publishing, the award-winning home of speculative fiction in fiction and academia.
In 2018 she won the British Fantasy Award for Non-Fiction, as Editor of "Gender Identity and Sexuality in Fantasy and Science Fiction".
In 2021 she won the British Fantasy Award for Best Independent Press.
In 2022 she won the British Science Fiction Award for Best Non-Fiction, as Editor of "Worlds Apart. Worldbuilding in Fantasy and Science Fiction".
In 2022 she won the British Fantasy Award for Best Independent Press.
In 2023 she won the British Fantasy Award for Best Independent Press.
Francesca provides Publication Support for the Tolkien Society, and is the BSFA Awards Booklet Designer.
