We are back from a fantastic con, Fantasycon, in Scarborough. Mark Egginton embraced his first book launch with flare (and an eye patch) to the delight of all.
Unfortunately our dear Anna Thayer could not make the launch, but just as Mark's "The Lord of the Grins" hit the release day running, her book "On Eagles' Wings" has been very well received by the academic community and the general public at large.
Robert S Malan took part in a very interesting panel called "This used to be the future" with fellow writers Daniel Godfrey, Kim Lakin-Smith, Susan Boulton and Richard Webb.
I was on a different type of panel, one entitled "Go your own way: Small Press, Self Publishing or Traditional Publishing - Which is right for you?". Chair Lee Harris moderated writer Robert Harkness, agent Amanda Rutter, Gollanz editor Marcus Gipps, Comic publisher Selina Lock and yours truly.
It is always great seeing old friends and making new ones, and conventions allow you to do just that! I do hope to see you at one of them, some day. Our next stop will be Eastercon 2017.
The newsletter will be out at the start of October, and boy do we have news for you!
Stay tuned!
