Sustainability
At Luna Press Publishing, we are very conscious of the issues our planet is facing.
In October 2024, Luna began its sustainability journey, consciously, from a business perspective. We attended Green Book Training organised by Publishing Scotland, our Scottish industry body organisation.
There are several things we do to make sure waste is kept to a minimum, and the appropriate resources are used in the manufacturing of books.
Gone are the days of huge print runs, with hundreds of books ending up in landfills. Technology has allowed us smaller, more convenient print runs, that minimise supply chain waste and conserve valuable natural resources. We use printers that require their paper suppliers to uphold environmentally responsible practices, ensuring no materials are sourced from endangered forests or ecologically sensitive areas.
We will be complying with the EUDR, the European Union’s Deforestation Regulation, and we are monitoring all updates and developments.
Together, we strive to keep our world sustainable and make a positive contribution to the environment.
One of our Academic texts, Green New Worlds, by Dr Ricardo Victoria-Uribe and Dr Martha Elba González-Alcaraz, explores just that.
